About Us

Anita N. Rahim is the Prinicipal and CEO of SLP-Allied Health Staffing Network.  Ms. Rahim is an ASHA board certified speech-language pathologist and certified in the Orton-Gillingham Reading and Writing Program. She graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from MGH-Institute of Health Professions (2002), an academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital , the major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. She completed her Bachelors of Science degree also in Communication Sciences Disorders from the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (2000) at Boston University. During her speech and language graduate career, she was trained in reading and writing programs, such as the Orton-Gillingham program and the Telian Multisensory Mnemonic program.

Ms. Rahim is a bilingual (English and Urdu) speech-language pathologist, who is based out of Oak Brook, Illinois.  She manages her staffing company as well as provides private consultations to school districts and healthcare facilities that are in and out of the state of Illinois.   Services include comprehensive speech and language evaluations, bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow evaluations, collaboration with the school districts/healthcare facilities and the family, and a strong in-house and/or at home therapy program. 

Ms. Rahim has previously worked as a clinical supervisor and coached speech- language pathologists in training during speech, language, cognitive and swallowing evaluations as well as during treatment sessions.

She has developed and presented case studies on bilingual patients with bi-sensorineural hearing loss, who lacked interpersonal skills and had multiple speech and language impairments.

Ms. Rahim has provided services to families with children who are on the Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD) Spectrum, children with Autism, Down's syndrome, Apraxia of speech, language learning disability, dyslexia, dysfluency (stuttering), elective mutism, traumatic brain injury, language disorders, speech and language disorders, phonological disorders and articulation disorders.

Furthermore, her adult population includes clients with Parkinson's disease,  Alzheimer's disease, dementia, aphasias, multiple cerebral vascular accidents, craniectomy, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary edema, status post tracheostomy, acute respiratory distress syndrome, pneumothorax, lung atelectasis, ventilator associated pneumonia, congestive heart failure, multiple strokes, nasopharyngeal cancer, myeloma, end-stage renal failure, status post percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy and/or nasogastric tube insertion, elective mutism and dyslexia.
